Lovely Blanche is as versatile as they come. The dainty size makes this piece multifunctional and suitable as a hallway table, entryway key drop, or small desk This vintage table has an enamel top in excellent shape which makes a durable and scratch-resistant work surface.

Process & behind the scene notes:

• Blanche had many, many old coats of heavy paint that were badly chipped and peeling (first yellow, then teal underneath, then cream below that!). As I began to strip the old paint, I started to love the rustic and weathered look of the remains of the original cream paint against the bare wood. I sanded it carefully to make it smooth without losing the beautiful effect.
• The drawer handle had also been painted with a very heavy, thick, oil-based paint. I began to strip it as well, hoping to remove enough paint to repaint in gold or black. I was NOT expecting to find the original chrome & black retro handle in excellent condition, somehow surviving the stripping process. It stayed in its beautiful original state - I love it just the way it is.
• The top got a clean and polish to restore it back to its enamel glory. I nearly painted the top, but the enamel was in such excellent shape I decided to keep it vintage cream and paint the band around the top black to tie in with the handle.
• The drawer is non-functional and has been secured with screws from underneath. A better carpenter than I could mostly likely fix it.

Pickup is from my home in Uxbridge or local delivery can be arranged. All furniture is final sale and not eligible for free shipping if combined with other items. Painted and vintage furniture will always have its share of imperfections and wear & tear from a lifetime of use.
